Spectrelayer’d content is roughly 8-12dB less loud than conventional releases. This means that devices capable of higher power output are necessary to play back Spectrelayer’d content with the transients intact at regular loudness levels. Ask your engineering dept why this is so if it’s unclear to you. The bottom line is this: Spectrelayer is a real improvement in audio. It’s not a gimmick. Again: Trust your ears. As the process developer, a polymath & autodidact; -I wish that Spectrelayer was a simple black box that I could pour a recording in on one side & have it emerge processed on the other with everything perfectly ready for return-submission; – And all without a shred of experience needed. But in the world of quality art – that’s not how things work. Spectrelayer still requires a human engineer with ears & expertise to review the content & establish parameters. And as anyone who works with AI will tell you: There are contingencies that must occasionally be addressed. As a result – turn around takes time (but less & less as computing power continues to increase). Spectrelayer is not a music mill. The service is a fine art conducted by the skilled & competent. He who hesitates waits in line. Oh, and beware of the buzz around the term “AI”. AI can be a powerful tool but the alleged benefits are often overblown. Spectrelayer makes a very limited use of it – that will change over time as the nature of tech changes. No two AI’s are the same. Some are bad! Don’t let empty hype deceive you.
